At the end of 2009, Darren mentions Glee on his Twitter for the first time. Chris is just wrapping up the originally scheduled first part of Season 1. This is a story of near misses, inconvenient scheduling and how the time needed to be right.

Everyone knows what Chris and Darren do in public, the tweets, the interviews, the photos. Based on real life events and a "what if it started with an awards show and a confession afterwards?" Here's what may have happened behind the scenes.

Darren and Chris are tired of the secrecy. The last straw is when Darren's publicist sends him an email telling him to step up the PDA with Mia and requiring him to publicly acknowledge her as his girlfriend. Darren can't do that to Chris, he's been willing to go along with subtle things but refuses to outright lie.
